• Open the SmartThings app on your smartphone or tablet and log in. If you’ve never used it before, you may get it from the App Store or Google Play Store.

Connecting your Ring gadget to your SmartThings app is a breeze using IFTTT.

Using Applets, you may program the Apps to do various operations on their own in the platform. Certain events and behaviors serve as the basis for these responsibilities.

Following tasks have been pre-programmed on the IFTTT platform.

• Activate SmartThings whenever the doorbell rings (Note that this is exclusively for Ring Smart Doorbells).
• If there’s any movement, turn on the lights for a minimum of ten minutes.
• When the doorbell rings, the SmartThings Switch is turned on.
• When motion is detected, turn on the front door lights.
• When a moving object is detected, the simulated switch will turn on.
• Make sure you’ve previously set up a Ring and SmartThings account before proceeding.

A permission request from IFTTT is required in order to link your Ring device with the SmartThings App through IFTTT’s API.

Follow these instructions to connect your Ring device to SmartThings and enable any of the functionalities listed above.

• Since all Ring accounts must now use Two-Factor Authentication, A token may be generated by following these steps.
• Use the provided code snippet to set up the plugin on the terminal once it has been installed.

It will appear on the HomeKit App for SmartThings and Ring. SmartThings may now be used to control any Ring device.

As a result, although you will not be able to operate SmartThings and Ring devices separately, you will have much reduced switch-related complexity.
