Even though I tried, I couldn’t get it to operate with any of my own devices. After a few hours of tinkering, I decided to turn to the Internet for help. Fire Stick Remotes had a plethora of useful and useless information and videos, and sorting through them took longer than I thought.
Because of this, I decided to compile what I learned into a handy resource I can refer to in the future: a how-to guide for unpairing your Fire Stick remote.
If you only have one Fire Stick Remote, you may unpair it by disconnecting the Fire Stick and re-pair it with the new device.

How to Pair Firestick Remote?

One or two remotes may be linked to your Fire Stick. So here’s how to unpair your Fire Stick remote in two different ways:
You are using only one remote with the current device.
Unless you have another device to connect it with, there is no way to unpair it using the remote. After unplugging the old device, you may use the previous section’s instructions to pair the new remote with the old one.
You are using two remotes with the current device.
Using the second remote, follow these procedures to unpair one of the two remotes that are paired:
- From the home screen, go to Settings.
- Choose your Bluetooth devices and controllers carefully.
- Select “Amazon Fire TV Remotes” in the maritime circle and click on it.
- Unpair the remote you want to use.
- Activate the key. In order to keep your remote linked, press the Select button. Unpair the second remote control immediately.
- If you don’t have the old one handy, you can use the Fire TV App to connect a new Fire Stick Remote and then unpair the old one with the new one.
- To access the Fire Stick’s settings, all you need to do is open the Fire TV app and browse the menu.
- Add a new Amazon Fire TV remote by going to Controllers & Bluetooth Devices->Amazon Fire TV Remotes->Add New Remote.
You can also use the Fire TV App to connect your Fire Stick to WiFi without controlling using the Fire TV App.

It’s quite easy to pair or unpair your Fire Stick controller. Whether the problem persists, check to see if the remote’s batteries are correctly inserted.
